Caliburn Subsidiary Lands $240M Contract to Support Iraq Air Base Operations

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Caliburn’s Sallyport subsidiary a one-year, $240 million contract to help the Iraqi military operate an installation that houses F-16 fighter jets.

Work under the sole-source contract will include security support services for Balad Air Base in Iraq, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

The AF Life Cycle Management Center. in Ohio oversees the foreign military sales effort and is obligating $117.6 million in FMS funds at the time of award.

Reston, Virginia-based Caliburn announced earlier this month its intention to split into two independent companies, named Acuity International and Valiance Humanitarian.

The first company will consist of engineering and technology, advanced medical and global mission businesses while the second entity will focus on humanitarian support services, primarily to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Caliburn expects the separation process to be complete by Sept. 30.
