Lockheed Receives $447M Order to Build MH-60R Naval Helicopters for South Korea

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a $447.2 million order under a U.S. Navy basic ordering agreement to manufacture 12 MH-60R Seahawk multimission helicopters for South Korea.

The order, which is intended to fulfill a foreign military sales requirement, covers production and delivery services, the Department of Defense said Monday.

Naval Air Systems Command is the contracting activity and is obligating FMS funds on the award.

Fifty-two percent of work will take place in Owego, New York, and the remaining 48 percent will occur in Connecticut and Alabama.

The MH-60R is designed to primarily support anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare missions and equipped with surface search radar, low frequency sonar and thermal imaging sensor systems.
