The Department of Veterans Affairs has announced its intent to issue a contract modification to TriWest Healthcare Alliance to set up and maintain a network of health care providers and practitioners in the Pacific Islands as part of the Community Care Network Region 6.
A notice posted Oct. 27 on the beta SAM website says VA intends to award the modification on a sole-source basis through the CCN Region 4 contract won by TriWest in August 2019.
TriWest will manage and track quality outcomes; pay and process claims to improve health care experiences for veterans; provide customer service; use data and performance metrics to improve services; and act as a third-party administrator to carry out the requirements under the contract modification, which has a one-year base term and seven one-year options.
