SAIC Seeks to Accelerate Growth Priorities Through Reorg; Nazzic Keene Quoted

Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) will reorganize its business structure into two segments – defense and civilian business and national security and space business – effective Oct. 31, as part of efforts to advance growth priorities in digital engineering, space and digital transformation, among other areas.

Bob Genter, currently executive vice president and general manager of SAIC’s civilian business, will serve as president of the defense and civilian sector while Michael LaRouche, EVP and GM of national security group, will oversee national security and space work as sector president, SAIC said Thursday.

Nazzic Keene, CEO of SAIC and a 2020 Wash100 Award winner, said the company moved to reassess its organizational structure to align with business strategy and growth priorities.

Jim Scanlon, EVP and GM of SAIC’s defense systems group, will retire by the end of the company’s fiscal year 2021 after more than three decades with SAIC. He will stay through Jan. 29 to help with the transition during the reorganization.

“For more than three decades, Jim has been an important leader in shaping the SAIC we all know today. We wish him the best and thank him for all he has done for our customers, our people and our company,” said Keene.
