Raytheon Technologies-Red Hat-VMware Team to Pursue Army Cyber TRIDENT Training Contract; Bob Williams Quoted

Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has teamed up with Red Hat and VMware (NYSE: VMW) to compete for the U.S. Army’s potential $957M contract vehicle for cyber training services in support of the Persistent Cyber Training Environment.

The Cyber Training, Readiness, Integration, Delivery and Enterprise Technology contract seeks to support the management and evolution of PCTE, which will allow the military to conduct cyber training, mission rehearsals and exercises, Raytheon Technologies said Wednesday.

“Raytheon’s Cyber TRIDENT team is challenging the status quo for how software is developed and delivered to military training systems,” Bob Williams, vice president of global training solutions at Raytheon Technologies’ intelligence and space business, said in a statement. “The speed of change in cyber warfare dictates rapid and continuous delivery of new training, which Raytheon will accomplish with techniques such as DevOps.”

The team will include small businesses and leverage commercial best practices and automation tools as well as Raytheon Intelligence and Space’s software development techniques.

The Army issued in March a draft solicitation for the Cyber TRIDENT contract, which is expected to be awarded in early 2021.
