L3Harris Gets $95M Army Multichannel Radio Production Order

L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has secured a $95M low-rate initial production order to build additional AN/PRC-158 multichannel radios for the U.S. Army.

It marks the company’s third LRIP award under the service branch’s potential 10-year, $12.7B Handheld, Manpack and Small Form Fit radio procurement vehicle, L3Harris said Tuesday.

The radios will undergo operational tests after the LRIP phase to help Army personnel create a path forward for full-rate production efforts.

The Army looks to procure as many as 65K radios through the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

“AN/PRC-158 will equip soldiers with cutting-edge waveforms, providing resilient SATCOM and advanced wideband networking at the tactical edge,” said Dana Mehnert, president of communications systems at L3Harris.

The system uses a software-based architecture and designed to process classified and unclassified information.
