Maria Silsdorf
Maria Silsdorf, a retired U.S. Navy captain and former program manager within Huntington Ingalls Industries' (NYSE: HII) technical solutions business, has been named director of equal employment opportunity and diversity at the company's Newport News Shipbuilding division.
She will report to Susan Jacobs, vice president of human resources and administration at Newport News, and oversee the unit's EEO compliance, ethics, diversity and inclusion functions, the company said Friday.
Prior to this appointment, Silsdorf managed talent acquisition and development programs for the technical solutions organization. The U.S. Naval Academy graduate previously served as chief engineer of the Navy's USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier.
“I am confident that Beth’s experience will help us continue efforts to build a culture that embraces everyone's differences while advancing our inclusion and diversity strategy," Jacobs said.
