Archana Deskus, former senior vice president and chief information officer of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE), has been appointed to the SVP and CIO roles at Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) in a move that takes effect Jan. 30.
She will report to George Davis, chief financial officer of Intel, and manage the technology firm's global information technology operations, the company said Monday.
“The CIO job is critical as we expand our growth opportunity and showcase the power of IT to unleash the potential of data for our customers and across our operations,” Intel CEO Bob Swan said.
Deskus joined HPE in October 2017 and previously held a similar position at Baker Hughes, Ingersoll Rand, Timex and United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
An East West Bank board member, Deskus holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and management information systems from Boston University and an MBA from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
