Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has secured a 52-month, $123.5M contract modification for production, modernization and engineering work in support of a U.S. Navy-used fire control system.
The company will produce equipment for the Aegis fire control system and provide associated engineering and modernization services for Arleigh Burke-class Flight III destroyers and Spanish ships, the Department of Defensesaid Friday.
The award also provides for assessment ordnance alteration kits and special test equipment for solid-state switch assemblies.
Work will take place in California, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Virginia through April 2023.
Naval Sea Systems Command will obligate $123.5M in foreign military sales as well as fiscal 2020 shipbuilding, conversion and procurement funds.
Work supports the Aegis Modernization or AMOD program that aims to boost the anti-air and ballistic missile defense capacities of applicable ships.
The modification amends a $72.4Mcontract that Raytheon received last year for Aegis FCS production.
