Dave Kaufman, vice president and general manager of Ball Aerospace‘s national strategic defense business, has been promoted to chief operating officer of the company in a move that takes effect on Jan. 1.
He started his career at Ball in 2000 as senior program and capture manager for national security space and assumed his current position in 2013, the Colorado-based aerospace contractor said Tuesday.
Kaufman previously served as spacecraft systems engineer at Boeing (NYSE: BA) and thermal engineer at Hughes Space and Communications.
Mark Healy, VP of Ball’s national intelligence systems mission area, will replace Kaufman once the latter formally assumes his new role. Healy has three decades of military and industry experience.
