Teledyne Subsidiary Gets $178M Navy Contract to Build Manned Combat Submersibles; Al Pichelli Quoted

A Teledyne Technologies (NYSE: TDY) subsidiary has secured a potential $178M follow-on contract to manufacture underwater combat personnel delivery vehicles for Naval Sea Systems Command.

Teledyne Brown Engineering will continue to produce MK11 Shallow Water Combat Submersible systems and spares as well as provide engineering and technical services through fiscal 2024 under the sole-source award, the company said Monday.

SWCS is designed to transport special operation forces into and out of dangerous war environments.

U.S. Special Operations Command green-lit continued production of the system after TBE completed work under an initial engineering development contract.

œThe Shallow Water Combat Submersible is a complex system that will assist in the safe delivery and return of those who are protecting our nation,” said Al Pichelli, president and CEO of Teledyne.
