Cerner (Nasdaq: CERN) has agreed to acquire AbleVets, an information technology consulting and engineering company, for an undisclosed sum as part of efforts to expand its technical expertise in executing modernization platforms in the federal health market. AbleVets will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Cerner once the latter closes the transaction in the fourth quarter, Cerner said Friday.
œAbleVets has been a trusted partner to Cerner and is providing critical support to our federal programs, said Travis Dalton, president of Cerner™s government services business. Dalton added AbleVets’ technical expertise will further support Cerner™s efforts to provide integrated care for service personnel, veterans and their families.

AbleVets is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business with approximately 250 employees and provides cybersecurity, analytics, agile engineering and technology enablement support services to federal health clients.
