The U.S. Army has awarded L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX) a contract worth potentially more than $90M to update transceivers designed to increase soldiers’ situational awareness on the battlefield, Defense News reported Tuesday.
L3Harris will perform ROVER 6 radio upgrade work under the military branch’s One System Remote Video Terminal program.
The system, which transmits video and geospatial data from reconnaissance aircraft, will be updated to include a new cryptographic core, expand frequency range and address size, weight and power requirements.
L3Harris announced the award during the annual Association of the U.S. Army event in Washington, D.C.
