L3Harris Delivers Initial Updated Night-Vision Goggles to Army, Receives Two Additional Delivery Orders

L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX) has delivered 40 Enhanced Night Vision Goggle-Binocular devices to the U.S. Army as part of a $391M contract awarded last year.

Soldiers will field the initial batch of updated goggles through early 2020 to help increase their situational awareness, the company said Monday.

ENVG-B uses a white phosphor image intensification technology and a thermal channel designed to fuse images and thermally detect targets. The binocular is intended to address the Army’s soldier lethality cross-functional team requirement.

Dana Mehnert, president of L3Harris’ communications systems segment, said that ENVG-B reflects a year-long collaboration between the company and the military branch.

The company received two more orders worth $153M combined to deliver 7K additional systems and provide logistics support services following the completion of initial deliveries.
