Rolls-Royce to Deliver T56 Engine Supplies Under $109M DLA Contract

Rolls-Royce has secured a potential $109.2M contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to provide supplies for T56 engines that power U.S. Air Force and Navy aircraft. Contract work is initially scheduled through Sept. 30, 2024, and could extend for another five years if an option is exercised, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

DLA awarded the contract on a sole-source basis and will obligate funds defense working capital funds for fiscal 2020 through fiscal 2024. The T56 single-shaft turboprop engine is equipped with a propeller brake plus two gear reduction stages and used to power military transport and long-range maritime aircraft platforms.
