Jeff Kunins, formerly vice president of Alexa Entertainment at Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) Alexa Entertainment, has joined public safety technology provider Axon (Nasdaq: AAXN) as chief product officer and executive VP of software.
The 25-year technology industry veteran will oversee growth efforts for Axon’s software hub in Seattle, the company said Tuesday.
“I believe in the power of technology to radically improve transparency, accountability and safety for both law enforcement and the citizens they protect,” Kunins said. “It’s an honor to be joining the Axon team to be a part of making it happen.”
His corporate career has also included time as VP of Amazon’s Kindle reading platform; general manager of product and design at Skype; general manager of Windows Live Messenger at Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT).
He also held an eight-year career at voice services provider Tellme Networks, which Microsoft acquired in 2007.
Axon granted Kunins a total of 470K restricted stock units through an equity inducement award upon commencement of his tenure with the company.
