Julie Sweet has begun her tenure as CEO of Accenture (NYSE: ACN) after leading the professional services firm’s business in North America for the past four years.
Accenture said Sunday Sweet succeeded former interim CEO and 36-year company veteran David Rowland, who now serves as its executive chairman.
She previously worked as general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary from March 2010 to May 2015.
Sweet, whose promotion was first announced in July, innovation, supports external discussions about innovation, the impact of technology on business and workplace diversity.
In his new capacity, Rowland offers insight on long-term strategy development and represents Accenture in key relationship establishment initiatives.
