Sue Gordon, principal deputy director of national intelligence and a 2019 Wash100 winner, will leave her post on Aug. 15, NBC News reported Friday.

œI have gotten to know Sue over the past 2 years and have developed great respect for her, President Donald Trump said in a tweet.

Trump said Gordon™s resignation will coincide with the departure of DNI and 2019 Wash100 recipient Dan Coats, who called Gordon a œvisionary leader who has made an enormous impact” on the intelligence community.

Prior to her current role, she served as deputy director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and worked for the CIA in a number of leadership positions for 27 years. She led the formation of nonprofit company In-Q-Tel.
