Jim Carlini
Jim Carlini, an industry and government technical leader who joined Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) in 2018, has been promoted to chief technology officer, Inside Defense reported Tuesday.
He succeeds Jim Cantor, who assumed the role of chief of performance excellence and strategic partnerships.
Leidos CEO and a 2019 Wash100 winner Roger Krone said during the earnings call Tuesday that Cantor will help grow the companys strategic supplier framework and align business framework principles with program operations.
Krone noted that Carlini will continue to push for technical excellence across technology areas including artificial intelligence, machine learning and cyber defense. He will also lead the effort to leverage the cutting-edge capabilities incubated in the Leidos innovation center, the LInC, throughout the business to deliver solutions to customers in all of our served markets, Krone added.
Carlini, a member of the Defense Science Board, previously worked at Northrop Grummans (NYSE: NOC) electronic systems business as vice president of advanced development programs and as director of the director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agencys special projects office.
Cantor joined Leidos in 1990 and has held senior leadership roles since then, including CTO, corporate engineering executive, national security sector chief engineer and the companys technical director for program execution.
