The Department of Defense™s potential 10-year, $8B contract for enterprise common cloud-based applications and services could be awarded as early as August, Nextgov reported Tuesday.
Industry sources said the procurement process for the Defense Enterprise Office Solutions contract has been going smoothly, accelerating the timeline for the contract.
The General Services Administration issued in April a request for proposals for the DEOS contract, which seeks to provide the Pentagon with cloud-based communication, productivity and collaboration capabilities and is the initial phase of the department™s three-phase Enterprise Collaboration and Productivity Services program.
Once the DEOS contract is awarded, DoD will launch the competition for the ECAPS program™s second and last phases, which cover video, voice and assured voice services.
Updates on DEOS come as DoD prepares to award the potential 10-year, $10B Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud computing contract in August.
