Pratt & Whitney Gets $359M Contract Modification for Initial F-35 Spare Propulsion Systems

Pratt & Whitney, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), has secured a three-year, $358.5M contract modification to provide engines for a global pool of F-35 spare parts.

The United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) subsidiay will deliver eight F135-PW-100 systems and one F135-PW-600 to address requirements of the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps., non-Department of Defense users and foreign military sales customers, DoD said Friday.

Ninety three percent of work will take place in East Hartford, Conn., and the remaning 7 percent will occur in Indiana and the U.K.

The Pentagon will initially obligate $229.4M on the modification and expects the company to finish work by June 2022.
