Perspecta to Help Update DoD Security Vetting System Under $75M OTA

Perspecta (NYSE: PRSP) secured a $75M other transaction agreement to help the Defense Information Systems Agency and Defense Security Service modernize an information technology system used to vet personnel for classified data access.

The Chantilly, Va.-based company will develop a prototype based on the National Background Investigation Service’s IT platform to support DSS vetting processes that include adjudications, background checks and insider threat programs, DISA said Tuesday.

The updated system will work to process data under various mission areas, identify key information for potential legal actions, reduce time spent on decisionmaking and cover Department of Defense-validated security controls.

“The objective with this OTA is to integrate new bold and transformational approaches from the NBIS architecture and take the next step with technology to integrate and align other security missions, said Terry Carpenter, program executive officer at NBIS.

Other system requirements under the agreement include enterprise-level software development features and artificial intelligence-driven analytics, brokering and data ingest tools.
