Dean Acosta
Dean Acosta, a corporate communications veteran in the aerospace and defense sectors, has been named senior vice president of communications at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) in a move that takes effect May 20.
“His expertise and experience will help us communicate how our company works every day to protect lives, enhance security, and advance the frontiers of science and human understanding,” Marilyn Hewson, CEO of Lockheed and a 2019 Wash100 winner, said in a statement released Wednesday.
Acosta served as director of communications at the Bethesda, Md.-based company from January 2010 to July 2011.
His industry career also includes communications roles at Resideo, Honeywell (NYSE: HON) and Boeing (NYSE: BA). He worked as press secretary for NASA and started his career as a broadcast, print and radio journalist.
He received an Emmy award for his reporting skills.
