The Department of Justice has completed its assessment of the
proposed $34B acquisition of
Red Hat (NYSE: RHT) by
IBM (NYSE: IBM).
IBM also secured a notice of early termination of the required waiting period for the transaction under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 , the company said Friday in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
IBM expects the deal to be completed in the latter half of 2019.
IBM announced in October that it agreed to buy Red Hat for $190 per share in cash in a push to create a global hybrid cloud provider.
