Applied Insight Buys ATG, Stratus Solutions to Expand Cloud, AI, Analytics Offerings; John Hynes Quoted

Ashburn, Va.-based technology services contractor Applied Insight has acquired Stratus Solutions and Applied Technology Group for an undisclosed sum in a push to grow its artificial intelligence, cloud and analytics offerings for defense, intelligence and federal civilian clients.

AI said Wednesday it acquired ATG early last year and completed its purchase of Stratus in December.

The acquisitions are part of AI™s strategy to create a mid-market company delivering information technology platforms to federal government customers to facilitate collaboration and decision-making.

Hynes added AI looks forward to working with innovators at Stratus and ATG as the company plans to explore cyber, cloud governance and machine learning capabilities to help clients oversee their cloud infrastructure.

Founded in 2009, Eldersburg, Md.-based ATG has a team of about 80 data specialists and software engineers and provides data analytics, cloud, DevOps, deep learning and repository building services to national security customers.

Fulton, Md.-based Stratus was established in 2008 and has approximately 100 employees specializing in cloud, analytics, intelligent automation and agile DevOps.
