Leonardo DRS network and imaging systems business has received two contracts worth a total of $344.3M to procure a lightweight laser designator rangefinder and provide support services for the Maintenance Support Device Version 4 Light system.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday the company will perform work under the rangefinder contract through Sept. 5, 2028 and the MSD-V4L vehicle through Sept. 6, 2023.
The MSD-V4L is designed to help maintainers of the U.S. Army assess and verify the functions of repaired weapon systems.
The system can host and operate both interactive and non-interactive electronic technical manuals, interface with on-platform IETMs, isolate line replaceable units, as well as load or verify software to restore or produce operational functions to weapon systems.
