Paul Mountford, formerly senior vice president and chief sales officer at Riverbed Technology, has been selected to succeed the retiring Jerry Kennelly as CEO of the San Francisco-based digital platforms provider.
Riverbed said Tuesday Kennelly, who will retire after 16 years at the helm, will serve in an advisory capacity in support of the companys leadership transition efforts.
Jerry Kennelly
Paul has the experience, leadership capabilities, customer-focus and passion to lead Riverbed through the next phase of growth while continuing to surpass our customers expectations, said Kennelly, who co-founded Riverbed in 2002.
Mountford said he is honored to oversee the company as it works to help businesses advance their digital strategies and leverage cloud and mobile platforms as part of their information technology modernization initiatives.
Mountford is a 30-year technology industry veteran who joined Riverbed in 2014.
He previously served as CEO of New York-based web intelligence startup Sentillian and worked for 16 years at Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO), where he led the companys enterprise business line, emerging markets division and channel partner program.
