A joint venture of Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Textron‘s (NYSE: TXT) Bell Helicopter subsidiary has received a $102.8 million modification under a U.S. Navy delivery order to repair V-22 Osprey parts.
The modification brings the potential value of Bell Boeing Joint Project Office‘s contract for aircraft parts repair to $344.2 million, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
Eighty percent of work will occur in Fort Worth, Texas and the remaining 20 percent will take place in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania.
The Naval Supply Systems Command’s Weapons Systems Support solicited the Bell-Boeing JPO for the non-competitive requirement.
The service branch will obligate fiscal 2018 working capital funds with each order.
V-22 is a joint service aircraft designed to perform vertical takeoff and landing missions like a conventional helicopter and maintain a long-range cruise capacity like a twin turboprop airplane.
