Jim Mosquera, a 37-year federal civilian and naval officer, has joined General Atomics as vice president and chief technology officer of the company’s electromagnetic systems business.
Mosquera will help execute the unit’s strategic financial, technical and business goals in support of technology and product development efforts as well as oversee technology roadmaps, General Atomics said Monday.
“Jim’s trusted reputation serving within the nuclear Navy and his extensive experience in strategic planning, engineering, science and technology, and programmatic leadership makes him well suited to support our strategic growth initiatives,” said Scott Forney, president of General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems.
Forney added Mosqueras insights and contributions would help GA-EMS broaden its portfolio of weapon systems and other technology platforms in support of military missions.
Mosquera previously served as program manager for advanced technology development at the Naval Sea Systems Command in support of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program jointly managed by the Navy and Energy Department.
He also held other senior leadership roles at NAVSEA such as director of reactor plant components and auxiliary equipment division, deputy program manager for space reactors, program manager for advanced submarine technology development and chief information officer.
