The Executive Mosaic GovCon Index (GCI) continued to post gains for the fourth consecutive day, reaching another new YTD record high. The CGI closed at 105.45 up 0.552 percent with advancing shares outpacing declining 3 to 1.
Markets showed little change on the day as the Fed delivered their message to shrink the balance sheet and forecast another interest rate hike by year-end. The three major indices closed mixed. The S&P500 reached new highs at 2,508.24 up 0.06 percent, while the DJIA gained 0.19 percent to a record 22,412.59, and the NASDAQ Composite pulled back slightly to close at 6,456.04, down 0.08 percent.
At today’s market close crude oil reversed yesterdays negative direction to break the $50 mark. WTI on the NY Mercantile Exchange closed up 1.64 percent to $50.29 per barrel.
