Katherine Hammack Rejoins EY as Public Sector Group Executive Director; Mike Herrinton Comments

Katherine Hammack, a former assistant secretary of the U.S. Army, has rejoined EY as executive director within the professionals services firm’s government and public sector practice.

EY said Tuesday she previously led EY’s Phoenix, Arizona-based climate change and sustainability services practice where she helped clients develop sustainability strategies and achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design green building certification.

“Katherine’s experience will be crucial in helping our clients drive change and deliver on policy intentions,” said Mike Herrinton, a partner and leader for the U.S. government sector at EY.

“We are thrilled that she has chosen to return to EY in this thriving area of focus for our organization,” added Herrinton, an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2017.

Hammack also served as assistant secretary for Army installations, energy and the environment and managed installation policy as well as the coordination of energy security and management of Army bases worldwide.

Her industry career also includes time as a senior account executive at electricity provider Arizona Public Services and a senior product manager at air conditioning company Carrier.
