John Hays, a former chief technology officer at the Department of Veterans Affairs, has joined Merlin International as director of federal healthcare solutions business at the Englewood, Colorado-based information technology and cybersecurity services contractor.
Merlin said Wednesday the 25-year management and technology veteran will support account growth efforts from sales to service delivery in his new role.
David Phelps, chairman and CEO of Merlin, said Hays will provide his deep expertise and thought leadership to the company’s federal healthcare IT business line.
Hays worked at the VA from 2000 to 2012 and his career there includes time as CTO, director of enterprise systems engineering and deputy chief information officer.
He also served as a vice president at TISTA Science and Technology; principal director of business development at CSRA(NYSE: CSRA), healthcare strategy VP at LongView International Technology Solutions; and systems engineer at the U.S. Forest Service.
