Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a $413.8 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to deliver 360 Lot 15 units of the company’s extended-range air-to-surface missile.
The Defense Departmentsaid Thursday the contractor will produce the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile-Extended Range systems as well as provide tooling and test equipment.
Jason Denney, program director of long-range strike systems at Lockheed’s missiles and fire control business unit, said in a release that the company has worked to boost the capacity of the JASSM-ER missiles for the U.S. and its allies.
The 2,000-pound JASSM-ER cruise missiles feature a blast-fragmentation warhead along with infrared seeker and digital anti-jamming technologies.
DoD noted that the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will obligate the full amount from fiscal 2017 Air Force missile procurement funds.
Lockheed will perform work in Orlando, Florida, through Aug. 31, 2020.
