Trace Systems Wins Potential $219M DISA Contract to Support Military Internet Program

Trace Systems has won a potential seven-year, $219 million contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency to provide internet connectivity infrastructure for service members to connect with their families and friends.

The Defense Department said Tuesday the company will support DISA’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation Internet Cafe Program that seeks to help deployed U.S. troops conduct online transactions and access social networks via phone, computer or personal devices.

The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization received 11 proposals for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity via a solicitation on the FedBizOpps website.

DISA will issue task orders under the contract annually and Trace Systems will perform work at MWR internet cafes worldwide.

The first task order is worth up to $12.4 million, according to DoD.

The base period will run from Dec. 19, 2016 to Dec. 18, 2017 and work could extend through Dec. 18, 2023 if all options are exercised.
