General Electric (NYSE: GE) has been awarded a potential $148 million contract by the U.S. Navy to repair, replace and support 35 F404 engine components of the service branch’s fleet of F/A-18 A-D jets.
Work will occur in Jacksonville, Florida, and various GE supplier facilities through March 2019, the Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday.
The Navy will obligate fiscal 2017 working capital budget funds upon the issuance of each order.
The F404 engine comes in three variants such as the F404-GE-102, F404-GE-402 and RM12.
