ASRC Federal‘s ASTS subsidiary has landed a potential $42 million contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to provide engineering and mission operations support services for NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service.
The company said Wednesday the contract covers real-time systems engineering support work to aid NOAA’s missions as the agency transitions its operations to future polar and geostationary systems.
“This new contract will expand our current services, reflecting increased mission operational support, ” said Mark Gray, ASRC Federal president and CEO.
NESDIS manages satellites on polar and geostationary orbits to create NOAA’s Integrated Observing System that works to supply information on weather, climate change and other environmental systems.
