Federal Data Systems has purchased two Maryland-based counterintelligence and intelligence business units from public sector services contractor Intelligent Decisions for an undisclosed sum in an effort to expand threat insider and critical infrastructure support services for commercial and government organizations.
This acquisition launches our platform of companies and extends FedDatas reach into the private sector and the intelligence community, Jamie Benoit, FedData president, said Tuesday.
Arlington, Virginia-based FedData provides incident response, data security, storage area networks, automated data replication software and hardware and other IT platforms and services for government and commercial markets.
FedData also has appointed Daniel Batelka, former vice president of operations, as head of its defense practice.
Batelka worked at the Army Information Technology Agency as director of operations prior to FedData.
Daniel Gilliam, a three-decade IC veteran and a vice president at Intelligent Solutions, has been named FedDatas intelligence practice lead.
Gilliam previously served at the National Security Agency as defense senior acquisition executive and contracting group chief.
Lonny Anderson, a 14-year NSA veteran, has joined FedData as head of counterintelligence efforts.
Anderson served in the U.S. Army for more than two decades and held various roles at the NSA/Central Security Service such as deputy director of signals intelligence and technology director.
Ashburn, Virginia-based Intelligent Decisions offers federal agencies access to IT platforms and carries out professional services across different practice areas such as cybersecurity, cloud, simulation and training, network convergence, mobility and application development.
