Anne Altman, general manager of IBM‘s (NYSE: IBM) U.S. federal and government industries, has confirmed her retirement after almost 30 years of work on both private and public sector programs, Federal News Radio reported Wednesday.
Meredith Somers writes Sam Gordy, integrated systems group president at Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), will join IBM on Jan. 18 to succeed Altman, who will remain with the company until the end of the month.
“[Altman] devoted her leadership and passion to drive IBM solutions that have enabled our U.S. federal agency customers in so many ways, helping transform them in the process, ” IBM said in a statement, according to the report.

Altman has also served as GM of the global public sector and System z mainframe businesses at IBM and is currently vice chair of the Northern Virginia Technology Council and member of the Professional Services Council executive committee.
Gordy, a former U.S. Navy officer, has previously worked with the Intelligence Community and will bring analytics, cybersecurity and enterprise information systems expertise to IBM, Nick Wakerman wrote Wednesday on Washington Technology.
The blog post said Lee Carrick, who serves as acting president of Leidos’ national security sector, will also temporarily take over Gordy’s duties with the sector’s integrated systems group.
