Lockheed Secures $616M NGA GEOINT Collect NeXT Contract

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has awarded Lockheed Martin the potential seven-year, $615.7 million GEOINT Collection NeXT, or GCX, contract.

NGA said Wednesday it awarded the GCX indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract concurrently with the initial task order.

What Is the GEOINT Collection NeXT Contract?

According to a presolicitation published in April 2024, the GCX contract seeks to ensure the continued sustainment of the legacy GEOINT Information Management Services, or GIMS, baseline and support the modernization of GIMS capabilities.

GIMS provides critical capabilities to facilitate efficient GEOINT management across multiple provider types for NGA and the Intelligence Community. It is the key component of the baseline managed under the IDIQ contract.

Lockheed’s Contracts With NGA

In 2024, the aerospace and defense contractor received the five-year, $191 million Strata IDIQ contract from NGA to deliver services that facilitate online, on-demand access of users to GEOINT data and products to meet mission requirements.

Lockheed and three other companies also won spots on a five-year, $794 million contract to provide research and development support services for NGA.
