TSS Solutions has named Joshua Cryer as chief technology officer and vice president of engineering. Cryer announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post on Wednesday.
Bringing nearly three decades of experience in military communications, Cryer will lead the engineering and technology innovation team at TSS Solutions, focused on developing and delivering disruptive radar and satellite communications technologies for commercial and defense markets.
He will perform the CTO duties at TSS Solutions while doing the responsibilities of a chief strategy officer at Combat Bound, which he joined in February to align the core technology competencies of the firm with business development initiatives, corporate partnerships, international relationships and growth to drive business success.

Cryer previously was the president and CEO of Reticulate Micro, where he led a cross-functional team that delivered disruptive and reliable communications technologies, including the Reticulate Micro Video Adaptive Systems Technology video compression platform, for civil and defense markets.
He also joined L3Harris Technologies as principal strategy development lead and the NATO Communications and Information Agency as principal engineer and scientist responsible for overseeing the system engineering, implementation, operation and maintenance of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems and services for NCIA, which operates seven satellite ground stations and one satellite center.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Cryer played a key role in developing the first Ultra-Sat micro satcom terminal for global on-the-move connectivity, contributed to NATO’s Space Segment 6th Generation and architected cross-segment technology demonstrations showcasing L3Harris’ One LHX sensor-to-shooter capability.
