Software company Elastic has appointed industry leaders Chris Townsend and Darryl Peek as global vice president of public sector and VP of partner sales for the U.S. public sector, respectively.
Townsend and Peek announced their new leadership positions in separate LinkedIn posts.
In addition to his role as global VP, Townsend will serve as president of Elastic Government Solutions.
Chris Townsend’s Career Background
According to his profile on the professional networking platform, Townsend most recently served as VP of public sector at Elastic.
Before joining the search analytics company, he was area VP for public sector at UiPath.
He also held senior sales leadership positions focused on the federal market at several technology companies, including Symantec, Blue Coat Systems and Intel Security.
The State University of New York Plattsburgh graduate spent nine years at Cisco Systems, where he served as regional sales manager, account manager and security specialist.
Darryl Peek’s Career Highlights
According to his LinkedIn profile, Peek joined Elastic in 2023 as senior director of public sector channels and alliances. In this capacity, he helped facilitate the delivery of enterprise search, observability, and security platforms to federal, state, local and education organizations.
Before Elastic, he was head of federal system integrator delivery partners for the public sector at Google, where he also served as head of federal strategic partnerships.
He previously served as the senior manager for federal civilian and global public sector at Salesforce.
Peek’s industry career included time as a foreign affairs account manager at Pragmatics, consultant and web developer at Pekart Design and Print, and systems integrator at Lockheed Martin.
The University of Pittsburgh computer engineering graduate spent nearly five years at the Department of Homeland Security, where he served as director of digital innovation and solutions.
Peek has a master’s degree in systems engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
