Parsons CEO Carey Smith Receives 2025 Wash100 Award From Executive Mosaic’s Jim Garrettson

Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson has presented the 2025 Wash100 Award to Carey Smith, chair, president and CEO of Parsons.

Garrettson, who founded the Wash100 Award in 2014, personally congratulated Smith for her seventh Wash100 win during a visit to Parsons’ office.

Smith Leads Parsons Toward Growth

The Wash100 Award is handed out annually to honor the successes and achievements of government and government contracting leaders and anticipate their future contributions to the govcon landscape.

For this year’s edition, the Wash100 Award recognized Smith’s transformative leadership, resulting in Parsons’ rapid growth and strong presence in the defense, cybersecurity and environmental services sectors.

In August 2024, the executive spearheaded Parsons’ strategic acquisition of BlackSignal Technologies, a provider of cybersecurity, digital signal processing and electronic warfare products, for $200 million.

Smith also oversaw Parsons’ $36 million purchase of TRS Group in February 2025. The TRS Group is an environmental solutions firm that delivers remediation technology.

Under her leadership, Parsons landed spots on the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s $4 billion contract to support programs to Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction and a $225 million, multiple-award, environmental remediation contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

“Carey is simply one of the best in the business, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome her back for her seventh Wash100 win,” Garrettson commented about Smith’s win.

“Whether it’s pioneering next-gen Army tech, strengthening national security, or delivering critical infrastructure, Carey and her team are always at the forefront,” he added.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Smith and the Parsons team for their latest Wash100 win.
