Northrop Grumman has appointed industry leaders Travis Garriss and Christopher Valentino as chief information and digital officer and vice president, respectively.
Garriss and Valentino announced their new roles at Northrop in separate LinkedIn posts published Monday.
Travis Garriss’ Career Background
Before Northrop, Garriss spent six years at BAE Systems Inc. as senior VP and chief information officer responsible for the company’s IT operations, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He joined BAE from Honeywell, where he spent more than a decade and held senior leadership positions, including CIO, VP of enterprise support and VP of infrastructure and application operations.
The newly appointed CIDO previously served as senior manager for secure access and enterprise tools at DHL.
Christopher Valentino’s Career Highlights
Valentino’s appointment as VP marks his return to Northrop, where he worked for 23 years and earned the Technical Fellow Emeritus designation, according to his profile on the professional networking site.
He most recently served as chief innovation officer at Peraton, where he led strategic value creation initiatives and directed the company’s internal research and development investments. His previous roles include chief strategy officer and acting president of Peraton Labs.
His more than two-decade career at Northrop included time as VP of information warfare and cyber survivability, VP of global cyber solutions and director of joint cyberspace programs.
Earlier in his career, Valentino was an IT specialist at Orbital ATK.
The University of Maryland, Baltimore County graduate is an advisory board member of the UMBC College of Engineering and Information Technology.
