Tony Encinias Appointed CTO for Government Services at Peraton

Tony Encinias, formerly of Atos, shared on LinkedIn Tuesday that he has been appointed chief technology officer for government services at Peraton.

Career Highlights

The seasoned executive most recently served as CTO for public sector and defense in North America at Atos. He was also the chief strategy and innovation officer for the state and local government sector at Dell Technologies. Encinias also worked at ViON for nearly five years as vice president of technology and VP of public sector strategy.

Before joining the private sector, Encinias worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from 2008 to 2015. The Peraton executive served as chief information officer, where he advised the secretary of administration on the state’s overall direction for technology. He also oversaw strategic planning and management for IT and information security for local government agencies.

Encinias was also the state’s CTO for four years, serving as the principal adviser to Pennsylvania’s deputy secretary for IT and CIO. He advised on technology investments, enterprise technology strategies and the establishment of standards and protocols.

Before that, Encinias worked at the Defense Information Systems Agency as an executive officer of the defense enterprise computing center. In this capacity, he oversaw the data center’s operations, including 11 IBM mainframe hosts, physical servers and a critical Department of Defense telecommunications and network system.

The Peraton CTO served in the U.S. Navy early in his career. He was the deputy director for innovation at the Department of the Navy and program coordinator for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, now known as Naval Information Warfare Command or NAVWAR. Before that, he was a supply officer for the USS Harry W. Hill and a damage control assistant for the USS Antietam.
