Joanie Barr Named SVP of Business Operations at Koniag Government Services

Joanie Barr, a 30-year veteran of the government contracting industry, has been appointed senior vice president of business operations at Koniag Government Services

The native-owned contracting company said Barr will oversee messaging and communications strategies across the operations, growth, and proposals departments, focusing on driving growth and delivering services to customers. She will report directly to the chief business operations officer, Aisha McGill.

Joanie Barr Career Achievements

Before joining KGS, Barr served as the chief technology officer at IntelliBridge, where she helped develop and implement corporate technology strategies while overseeing partnerships and investments. Barr spent over seven years at ASRC Federal as vice president and manager of the federal health division. In this role, she provided executive oversight and managed key customers, including the Defense Health Agency, Defense Healthcare Management Systems and the Department of Health and Human Services. She also worked as VP of technology at Data Networks Corp. before it was acquired by ASRC in 2015.

The KGS executive briefly served as VP of MORI Associates, where she provided program management advisory support while overseeing business development, marketing, proposal development and strategic partnering.

Barr also worked at ManTech from 2007 to 2010. As VP of the executive, health and non-federal programs division, she spearheaded the company’s growth in the federal health market. She also served as VP of the advanced solutions division at ManTech MBI.

McGill said of Barr, “Her proven record of shaping and leading corporate strategies and collaborating effectively across internal organizations and with employees, partners and customers will contribute to KGS’ continued growth and the exceptional value that we provide to our customers.”
