BAE Systems has secured a new contract valued at $251 million from the U.S. Navy to supply critical system engineering and on-site technical support to the AEGIS Technical Representative organization. The company said Monday that the deal will support not just the U.S. Navy, but also the Missile Defense Agency and foreign military sales customers.
BAE Wins Multi-Million Navy Contract
The contract has a five-year period of performance with work to be performed at multiple Navy sites, including in New Jersey and Maine. Under the deal, BAE will provide the organization with test and evaluation, system acquisitions, cybersecurity and logistics services to enhance the combat capabilities of AEGIS-equipped military vessels.
“Our team possesses extensive expertise in AEGIS and Ship Self-Defense Combat Systems, combined with the agility, innovation, and technical skills necessary to provide the U.S. Navy with the safe and effective combat capabilities required to achieve its mission goals,” said Lisa Hand, vice president and general manager of the Integrated Defense Solutions business within BAE Systems.
The award follows a 2020 task order BAE received from the Navy to support the military branch’s Aegis Technical Representative organization. Under the $188.2 million deal, the company also provided engineering, integration and test services to surface combatant ships.
