Comtech‘s (Nasdaq: CMTL) board of directors has named John Ratigan, chief corporate development officer, as interim CEO and elected Mark Quinlan as chair of the board following the termination of Ken Peterman for conduct unrelated to the business.
“We are fortunate to have a leader of John’s caliber leading Comtech’s talented organization at this important moment as we continue to deliver mission-critical solutions to our global customer base,” Quinlan said in a statement published Wednesday.
Ratigan joined Comtech in December after serving as CEO and president of ST Engineering’s iDirect Government subsidiary, where he helped manage the delivery of satellite communication technologies to the defense and government sectors.
He has over three decades of industry experience, including 10 years at EF Data Corp., which Comtech acquired in July 2000.
Comtech will retain an executive search firm to assist in the search for a permanent successor to Peterman.
