Former Space Force Chief John Raymond Joins Axiom Board of Directors

John “Jay” Raymond, a 38-year military veteran who formerly served as the U.S. Space Force’s chief of space operations, has joined the board of directors at Axiom Space.

The retired general will serve as strategic adviser to Axiom’s leadership on space domain safety and security matters in addition to his board membership, the Houston-based space infrastructure developer said Wednesday.

Axiom expects his expertise to play a key role in the company’s efforts to build a commercial space laboratory capable of accommodating research, discovery and exploration missions in low Earth orbit.

Raymond served as the first USSF CSO from December 2019 until his retirement in November 2022.
