BAE Subsidiary Books $246M Army Vehicle Material Contract

BAE Systems‘ land and armaments business was awarded a $245.6 million contract that covers early order material for the manufacturing of the U.S. Army’s Armored Multipurpose Vehicle fleet.

The Department of Defense said Thursday the Army used its weapons and tracked combat vehicle procurement funds for fiscal 2022 and 2023 to obligate the full contract amount at the time of the award.

Material acquisition under the cost-no-fee, cost-sharing contract is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2024, with BAE Systems Land & Armaments performing work at its York, Pennsylvania location.

AMPV is envisioned to replace the M113 fully tracked armored personnel carriers supporting the Armored Brigade Combat Team. The new tank has variants for general purpose, mission command, medical evaluation and other Army operations.
