Trend Micro’s New Committee Staffed by 6 Government Officials; Kevin Simzer Quoted

Trend Micro has formed a committee composed of six executives currently working in the U.S. government as the cybersecurity company targets a 15 percent footprint growth in the federal market.

Members of the U.S. Federal Excellence Committee represent agencies that provide oversight of the critical infrastructure, energy, finance and transportation sectors, the company said Wednesday.

They will work with Trend Micro in efforts to facilitate collaboration among federal agencies worldwide, sharing of information on cybersecurity vulnerabilities and increase threat visibility.

“The best way to raise the bar of security for the whole country is to work together with leaders of the public sector. The members of this committee share our passion for making the digital world safer,” said Kevin Simzer, chief operating officer of Trend Micro.

The formation of the group comes five months after the company established its federal business unit with the goal to help customer agencies implement zero trust technology, migrate to the cloud and secure digital transformation initiatives.
